Our Trips

Both of us have travelled extensively; Dacre focused on the sites the Stoker family originated from, especially the places where his great-granduncle lived and worked, while Hans spotted out the locations referred to in the Dracula novel.

In order to share each other's insights, we decided to make a series of trips together. Acting as tour guides for each other, both of us are now able to speak about the destinations described in this Travel Guide from his own practical experience.

Here you can see the route we traveled in November 2013, together with Aaron Sagers, a film producer for Travel Channel and MTV. We started from Sibiu on 19 November and returned there on 28 November. Please, click the image to see the route more in detail.

During our trip, we met with some Romanian partners involved in our project: Gerold Hermann, Director of the Samuel von Brukenthal-Gymnasium, Ana-Maria Muscar, Director of Hotel Castel Dracula; Prof. Ioan Bāca, author of a book on tourism in the Borgo Pass; Caroline Fernolend, Vice-President of the Mihai Eminescu Trust; Alexandru Priscu, P.R. & Marketing Manager of Bran Castle; Daniela Diaconescu, Vice-President of the Transylvanian Society of Dracula;  and Bogdan Popa, representing the Company of Mysterious Journeys. Additionally, we had meetings  with Camelia Berbece of Autonom.ro and Emanuel Cernat of the Ministry of Toursism.
